Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano used his famous phrase “Here we go” for Traore’s return to Barca . No. 37 of Wolverhampton Wanderers returned to the red and blue shirt team with a 6-month loan contract with an option to buy (optional) for about 30-35 million euros.
Wolverhampton and Barca have just reached a preliminary verbal agreement. The Catalan “giant” is planning to sign an official contract and undergo a medical examination for Traore next Friday (January 28). Then, Barca announced the Spanish rookie this weekend.
Traore wears the shirt of President Joan Laporta’s team until the end of June 2022 and Barca is responsible for paying 100% of the salary for the winger born in 1996. If El Blaugrana decides to buy Traore outright, the contract between the two sides has term of 5 years.
In fact, Barca is not the first club to want to win the nod of this powerful player in the mid-season transfer window of 2021/22. Before that, Tottenham Hotspur was very close to Traore’s signature.
However, Wolves refused to let go when “Rooster” only made an offer worth about 18-24 million euros (significantly lower than Barca’s 30-35 million euros).
Initially, Barcelona only considered Traore as an alternative to Ousmane Dembele – a winger preparing to leave the Camp Nou. But then, the red and blue shirt team immediately accelerated the Traore deal right after learning that Tottenham had failed to win the service of the 26-year-old player.
