USF ANNOUNCES 2022 BASEBALL SCHEDULE

14 Dec 2021 | 01:50 | Baseball

TAMPA (December 10, 2021) – University of South Florida head coach Billy Mohl has announced the Bulls’ 2022 baseball schedule which includes 37 home games to be played at USF Baseball Stadium.

USF Baseball Stadium will once again be open to full capacity after being limited to pass list only for the 2021 season.

The 2022 campaign opens with the USF Invitational on February 18-20 when the Bulls host UConn, Louisville and Charlotte. UConn and Charlotte both advanced to an NCAA Regional last season.

South Florida will then welcome Stony Brook for a three-game series on February 25-27 and FIU on March 1 before playing its first road game at UNF on March 2.

The Bulls host Brown University on March 4-6, Boston College on March 8-9, Bradley University on March 11-13, Mercer on March 18-20 and Niagara on March 25-27. USF will travel to FIU on March 15 and Florida Gulf Coast University on March 22.

USF hosts Bethune-Cookman on March 29 before beginning conference play with a War On I-4 series at UCF on April 1-3.

The Bulls return home for a single game against UNF on April 5 before heading to Tulane on April 8-10. USF then opens a four-game homestand with a single game against FGCU on April 12 before welcoming Memphis for its first home AAC series on April 14-16.

USF will play a single game at FAMU on April 19 before heading to Cincinnati for a weekend series on April 22-24.

The Bulls and Houston Cougars will square off in Tampa on April 29-May 1 before USF heads to Gainesville for a highly-anticipated matchup with Florida on May 3.

The War On I-4 comes to USF Baseball Stadium on May 6-8 against UCF.

The Bulls begin a four-game road trip at Stetson on May 10 and then head to ECU on May 13-15 before returning home to close out the regular season with a four-game homestand. ECU won the American regular season championship in 2021 and also advanced to the NCAA Regionals. USF split a four-game series with the Pirates to conclude the 2021 regular season which sparked the Bulls’ postseason run.

USF hosts Stetson on May 17 and Wichita State on May 19-21 to conclude the regular season.

The American Championship will once again be held at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater on May 24-29. NCAA Regional (June 3-5) and Super Regional (June 10-13) sites will be determined in May. The 2022 College World Series (June 16-27) will be played at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

South Florida won the 2021 American Championship at BayCare Ballpark last season to earn the program’s 14th NCAA Regional appearance. The Bulls went on to become just the seventh Regional No. 4 seed ever to advance to a Super Regional – marking USF’s first-ever Super Regional berth. South Florida defeated host and nationally-ranked Florida, perennial powerhouse Miami and South Alabama to claim the Gainesville Regional crown.

The Bulls return seven starting position players from last season, two starting pitchers and their top bullpen arm. Carmine Lane was named to the American All-Conference Team in 2021. Daniel Cantu was named the AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player while Lane, Jack Jasiak and Brad Lord were each named to the All-Tournament Team. Matt Ruiz and Nelson Rivera were each named to the Gainesville Regional All-Tournament Team. Lane and Drew Brutcher were both named Freshman All-Americans at the conclusion of the 2021 season.

South Florida ended last season ranked inside the Top 25 by five different publications, checking in as high as No. 16.

Baseball season tickets are on sale now. The USF Double Play Pass includes season tickets to every home game for both baseball and softball for a cost of $75. Single game tickets will be available in January. TO purchase tickets, please visit usfbullstix.com or call 1-800-Go-Bulls.

All USF home baseball games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ this season.
